From the moment the curtain rises on Burlesque The Musical, audiences are transported into a vibrant, electrifying world set against the backdrop of a glamorous yet gritty Los Angeles nightclub. Inspired by the beloved 2010 cult classic film and brilliantly adapted for the stage by Executive Producer Christina Aguilera and original screenwriter Steven Antin, this fresh musical bursts with vitality, emotion, and show-stopping performances that captivate and maintain their momentum throughout.

We follow to Ali (Jess Folley), a small-town girl with a burning dream of performing. As she pursues her ambition, Ali finds herself immersed in a lively realm of glitter, sass, and new opportunities within the Burlesque club. Central to the story is Tess (Orfeh), the club's passionate and determined owner, who is fighting tooth and nail to save her cherished venue from shutting down. Their journey is aided – and sometimes delightfully hindered – by a memorable cast of characters including the charming bartender Jackson (Paul Jacob French), the slick yet somewhat one-dimensional businessman Vince (George Maguire), and the captivating Sean (Todrick Hall).

The musical's heart beats strongest in its sensational score. The songs are infectious, masterfully blending powerful ballads, pulsating electro-pop, and sultry jazz into an alluring soundtrack that compels you to move. Each musical number isn't just a song, but a meticulously crafted spectacle, escalating into grand, theatrical climaxes enhanced by breathtaking choreography.

What truly sets Burlesque The Musical apart is its unapologetic embrace of its identity. This is a production fully aware of what it is – a vibrant, entertaining spectacle – and it leans into it wholeheartedly. It’s refreshingly humorous, wonderfully flirtatious, and overflowing with self-aware charm that makes it incredibly effective and immensely enjoyable. It’s a performance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is precisely what makes it so much fun.
