In Am I Losing My Mind or Just My Figure?, audiences are introduced to Fin, a spirited woman in her late twenties who is navigating the turbulent seas of modern adulthood.

Fin’s journey is by turns hilarious, painful, and deeply honest—her free spirit and quest for truth often landing her in sticky situations, some amusing, others more fraught. Throughout, the play asks us to laugh, to feel discomfort, and to root for Fin as she wrestles with the pressures of pregnancy, societal expectations, and her own sense of self.

Described in one recent review as “an inspiring testament to resilience and must‑see for anyone navigating the complexities of modern womanhood,” the show holds up a mirror to the audience, encouraging reflection on what it means to cope, to survive—and to stay authentic.

The creator and performer of the show identifies strongly with Fin, describing the process of bringing this character to life as “serendipitous.” She sees herself as a versatile maker and performer, embracing a broad range of genres. She acts, dances, sings, even clowns—and rejects being pigeon‑holed. For her, encountering new and challenging styles is part of the creative journey; impact—positive or negative—is still impact.

Her inspirations are wide and ambitious: theatre companies such as Temper Theatre and Lost Dog; choreographers like Crystal Pite, Pina Bausch, and DV8; and writers including Duncan Macmillan and James Graham. She also names actors and performers she admires—Patsy Ferran, Elisabeth Moss, Denise Gough, Jodie Comer, Michaela Coel among them—and holds Denzel Washington in particularly high regard.

Looking ahead, the production team hopes Am I Losing My Mind or Just My Figure? will make its way to the Edinburgh Fringe next year, as well as secure both national and international tours. The performer believes strongly that this story warrants broad visibility—“a story that needs to be told and heard.” The collaboration with director/writer Sam Holland‑Bunyan has been described as “very, very special,” with more creative work already in the pipeline.

When not performing, the artist says she enjoys being in London under low pressure: quality time with friends and family, good food, music, running, and lately, hot yoga—“great for sweating out my sins, connecting to my body and stretching my limbs.” She also jokes about trying to spend as little money as possible, citing the ongoing cost‑of‑living crisis as no laughing matter.

If she had followed an alternate path in life, midwifery or paediatrics might have been her calling. She is fascinated by the origins of life, young people, and the way bodies themselves play host to transformation—pregnancy, birth, early childhood. Helping people through such beginnings, she says, could have been where she made her mark. Am I Losing My Mind or Just My Figure? is set to tour in the near future, with aspirations to hit the Edinburgh Fringe in the next year, national venues, and possibly internationally thereafter.
